Taiwan’s Executive Yuan approved two operational frameworks on July 29, 2025, establishing a review committee jointly chaired by the Ministry of Labor and Ministry of Economic Affairs to identify and restrict imports of goods produced with forced labor. Under the mechanism, the Ministry of Economic Affairs will invoke Trade Act Article 11 to ban such products from tariff and bonded zones, while customs authorities will conduct border inspections and enforcement. Seized goods will be handled under the Customs Act and Trade Act through coordinated inter-agency action.
