ASEAN and Japan Prepare to Upgrade AJCEP Agreement, Endorse New Product-Specific Rules of Origin under HS 2022

ASEAN and Japan are advancing a review of the ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) to expand cooperation into new sectors and strengthen regional supply chains. The meeting endorsed the application of product-specific rules of origin (PSRs) under the HS 2022 harmonized system, effective 15 February 2027. Thailand’s Department of Trade Negotiations participated in the committee meeting overseeing this process.
