Madagascar notified the WTO Committee on Safeguards on 2 September 2026 that it initiated a safeguard investigation on 31 August 2026 covering imports of hulled rice, semi-whitened or whitened rice, polished or glazed rice, and broken rice. The investigation was formally notified under WTO safeguard procedures.
