India’s DGFT has issued a policy notice detailing the application and distribution modalities for a tariff rate quota (TRQ) covering 1 million metric tonnes of raw sugar imports. The notice also allows a one-time conversion for exporters currently under the Advance Authorisation (AA) Scheme to switch to the TRQ scheme. This sets out eligibility, allocation procedures, and operational guidelines for the sugar import quota.
