Thailand’s Commerce Ministry reported that the RCEP ministerial meeting on 21 September 2026 in Manila agreed to establish an ad hoc working group to consider accession of candidate countries to RCEP. Ministers also advanced preparations for a major review and upgrade of the RCEP agreement planned for 2027. The outcomes reflect RCEP’s role as an open and inclusive economic cooperation framework.
