Brazil MDIC opens public consultation on sustainable products under Mercosur-EU Agreement

Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce (MDIC) has launched a public consultation to identify sustainable products that could receive additional trade benefits under the Mercosur-EU trade agreement. Proposals submitted will help define which products qualify for preferential commercial treatment tied to sustainability criteria. This is part of the implementation process of the Mercosur-EU FTA.

EU Publishes 2026 GSP Implementation Report

The European Commission and High Representative published a joint report on implementation of the EU’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP), the bloc’s primary trade policy tool for supporting developing country exports. The report assesses the scheme’s contribution to sustainable economic growth. GSP grants preferential tariff access to eligible developing countries.
