USTR will hold public hearings May 5–8, 2026 on Section 301 investigations covering 16 economies’ acts, policies, and practices related to structural excess capacity in manufacturing sectors. Section 301 investigations can lead to tariffs or other trade remedies against unfair trade practices.

Second Period May 2026: Global Gold Price Correction Triggers Decline in Gold Export Reference Price and Reference Price
Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade has set the gold export benchmark price (HPE) at USD 150,555.29/kg, down 1.72% from the previous period, and the reference price (HR) at USD 4,682.80/troy ounce for the second period of May 2026. These are formalized in Ministerial Decree No. 1343 of 2026. The adjustments reflect corrections in global gold prices.
