Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs reports concrete enforcement outcomes from a cross-ministry task force targeting illegal transshipment and false country-of-origin labeling on goods exported to the US. Of 428 cases referred by Customs since April 2025, 257 have been adjudicated with penalties of NT$600,000 per declaration for non-Taiwan goods falsely labeled as Taiwan-made. Additional measures include high-risk importer/exporter watchlists, mandatory origin declarations, criminal referrals, and revised whistleblower incentive regulations effective July 2025.
